Sugar Cookies

3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1 ¼ cups sugar
1 cup butter
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

Sift dry ingredients to incorporate. Cut in butter. Add eggs and vanilla. Then the fun begins. Mix well with hands. Cut dough in half and roll out in wax paper. Roll up and tuck in ends of wax paper. Chill for one hour or more.

Preheat oven 350°. Roll dough to desired thickness and cut with cookie cutters. Sprinkle with colored sugars and bake for 8 minutes. Remembering when you remove the cookies from the oven they will cook a bit longer on the cookie sheet as they cool.
